Pilot ParishesFr. John Putnam at Sacred Heart in Salisbury received more than $125,000 in sacrificial commitments this week from 15 parish families. Throughout the course of the campaign, Sacred Heart has maintained a high average gift of $9,800 from families committed to retiring the parish debt. To date, the parish has raised $1,801,000.
Fr. Patrick Hoare at St. John Neumann in Charlotte held the parish’s first Commitment Weekend this past weekend. From this appeal, 79 gifts totaling $144,360 were committed to the campaign. Next weekend, Fr. Pat will provide another opportunity for parishioners to support the Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love effort.
Block I Parishes
Fr. Paul Dechant at Holy Cross in Kernersville received $103,250 from seven gifts, bringing the parish total to $250,450, or 23% of its $1,105,000 goal. Fr. Paul continues to visit with his parishioners to educate them about the campaign and invite their sacrificial support.
Fr. Bill Robinson at Our Lady of Mercy in Winston-Salem hosted a Volunteer Recruitment Weekend to invite parishioners to serve as campaign ambassadors. Over 15 parishioners indicated they would attend a special meeting to learn about Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love and how they can help educate the greater parish community.
Immaculate Conception in Hendersonville officially launched its Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love campaign. Under the leadership of Fr. Martin Schratz, nine Campaign Executive Committee members will spearhead the effort. The parish share of funds will be used to make campus renovations and upgrades to parish technology, to provide transportation services to elderly and homebound parishioners, and to increase tuition assistance for children enrolled at Immaculata School.
Fr. Joseph Dionne at St. James the Greater in Concord welcomed his Campaign Executive Committee. Volunteers look forward to sharing this transformative initiative with other parish families. Parishioners who have supported the campaign thus far feel they understand the needs of the Catholic community and realize the importance of supporting this effort.
Fr. Robert Ferris at St. Aloysius in Hickory welcomed the first gifts to the campaign! Families are excited to participate in this historic effort. They expressed appreciation and gratitude of their clergy and recognize the continued need to support the Priest Retirement component of Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love.
