Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love Begins the Final Push

Over the course of the Easter holiday, Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love surpassed $45 million in gifts and pledges. We are tremendously grateful to the pastors and volunteers who have shared the message, and humbled by the response of more than 8,000 donors.

Even more excitement comes from the number of families around the Diocese of Charlotte that are in Block 2 parishes. The majority of these families have not yet had a chance to participate. Over the next few months, we hope that thousands of other families will respond to the needs of Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love, as well as the leadership and commitment demonstrated by the families from Pilot and Block 1 parishes.

Our tremendous success to date comes from the completion of only 39 parish campaigns and Leadership Gift commitments. Fifty-three parish campaigns are either underway, or will begin in May. Please share the good news of what has been accomplished thanks to your hard work and commitment. We look forward to sharing our progress with you over the spring and summer as Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love wraps up in these 53 parishes.

Campaign Statistics

*A portion of the Leadership Gifts Phase total raised is shared with parishes, therefore the overall total is less than the sum of the individual phases.

Individual parishes were offered the opportunity to set a challenge goal over and above their FFHL goal. In addition, parishes receive a benefit from surpassing their regular FFHL goal. All dollars raised are included in these totals.

* Retired, but pastor when campaign was conducted.

Good News

Block Two

Holy Spirit in Denver received twelve additional gifts to their campaign, bringing them to 95% of their standard goal in just two months of visiting with parishioners. Fr. Carmen Malacari and the Ambassadors will continue to work on a challenge goal for additional funds to build a new church. They are thankful for the opportunity to support the important work of the broader ministries while fulfilling their vision of a larger worship space for the growing number of Holy Spirit families.

St. Therese in Mooresville welcomed more than $100,000 in commitments to the campaign. Fr. Vince Curtin sends gratitude to his dedicated Ambassadors and generous parish families for answering his call to be leaders in their faith community.

Our Lady of Guadalupe in Charlotte received more than $76,000 towards their goal, bringing the parish to 46% of their target of $695,000. Eighty-three families have committed $320,000 after hearing Fr. Vincent Finnerty’s inspiring vision to build a new church.

Fr. Anthony Forte at St. Benedict the Moor (Winston-Salem) and Good Shepherd (King) launched their Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love effort. Fr. Anthony is thankful for the nine volunteers that will help spearhead the campaign at both parishes. St. Benedict and Good Shepherd will earmark their funds for maintenance and upkeep of both parish campuses.

Fr. Roger Arnsparger received another commitment of $75,000, bringing St. Mark (Huntersville) to $523,500 total raised. Fr. Arnsparger has personally raised more than $425,000 by inspiring families with his commitment to Catholic education and enhancing St. Mark’s parish campus.

Fr. Frank Seabo kicked off the effort at Holy Infant (Reidsville) by receiving his first gift to the campaign and inviting four committed Ambassadors to join him to share the pillars of the effort.  Fr. Seabo looks forward to fulfilling the parish’s dream of creating a new parish center.
