Fr. Vince Smith Block Two Fr. John Starczewski at St. Francis of Assisi in Mocksville was joined by more than 20 families at a recent special reception. Fr. Starczewski reminded The parish community at St. John the Baptist de la Salle in North Wilkesboro continues to show tremendous support of this historic effort. Fr. John Hanic has personally met with more than 30 families and More than 50 families joined Msgr. McSweeney, Bishop Jugis, and the Ambassadors at St. Matthew in Charlotte to learn more about this important effort. Three seminarians also attended the reception and Msgr. McSweeney reminded families of the important need to provide for young men answering the call to Priesthood. Fr. Brian Cook held Commitment Weekend at Fr. Christopher Gober at St. Lucien in Spruce Pine is looking forward to wrapping up their campaign this weekend with Commitment Weekend. St. Lucien is currently at 86% of their $115,000 goal. Holy Infant in Reidsville publically launched their campaign with a special reception. Fr. Frank Seabo detailed the parish’s plans for a new parish center which will build classroom space as well as offer space for overflow during Mass. Fr. Seabo has been truly humbled by the generosity of the parish families. Fr. Vincent Finnerty at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Charlotte, a historically Hispanic parish, offered all families an opportunity to participate in Forward in Faith, Hope, and Love through receptions and two Commitment Weekends. More than 65% of the parish made a commitment to the campaign which will help them plan for a new church. To date, the parish has raised $1,520,060 from 620 gifts. The parish will close its effort this weekend with their third and final commitment weekend. Fr. Michael Buttner |
